	. Nemalion helmintoides (Velley) Batters (16cm) (=Fucus elminthoides Velley in Withering, =Rivularia multifida Weber & Mohr, =Nemalion multifidum (Weber & Mohr) Agardh, =Nemalium lubricum Duby) .
	Etymo: gr: thread; gr: worm-like Etymo: gr: filo; gr: simile ad un verme
	. Thallus in cylindrical, elastic, mucilagineous axes, starting from a common basal disk; 2 to 5mm in diameter, 10 to 25cm long. Brownish red. The macroscopic thalli are gametophytes; the tetrasporophytes are microscopic and filamentous, observed just in colture. Annual, photophyle species, found during winter and spring in surf zone, often in association with Rissoella verruculosa, sometimes epiphyte on Lithophyllum lichenoides. Tallo con assi multipli cilindrici, elastici, mucillaginosi, che partono da un disco basale comune; diametro tra 2 e 5mm, altezza tra 10 e 25cm. Colore rosso brunastro. I talli visibili sono gametofiti; i tetrasporofiti sono microscopici e filamentosi, e osservati solo in coltura. Specie annuale fotofila, si trova durante l'inverno e la primavera nella zona dei frangenti, spesso in associazione con Rissoella verruculosa, talvolta epifita su Lithophyllum lichenoides. ..
