	. . . . Soft, mambranaceous thallus, with solid base. Purple red to brownish red, often iridescent; up to 20cm. Annual, infralittoral species, found on rocks or epiphyte on other seaweeds: the var. uncinatum is a common epiphyte of Cystoseira. . Tallo morbido, membranaceo, con base solida. Colore da rosso a rosso brunastro, spesso iridescente. Altezza fino a 20cm. Specie annuale, infralitorale, si trova su rocce o epifita su altre alghe: la varietà uncinatum è un'epifita comune di Cystoseira. .
