	. Chondria dasyphylla (Woodward) Agardh (11cm) (=Fucus dasyphyllus Woodward, =Laurencia dasyphylla (Woodward) Greville) .
	Etymo: gr: cartilage; gr: hairy leaf Etymo: gr: cartilagine; gr: foglia villosa
	. The thallus shows a pyramidal shape, with one or two cylindrical axes with narrow base and truncated apex, carrying lateral branches with the same aspect; multiple branching on a single plan; 10 to 20cm. Dark red (juveniles) to brownish red. The gametophyte and the sporophyte are similar. Fertile during summer, the cystocarps have oval shape, while paddle-like sori take place at the top of ramuli; the tetrasporocysts are scattered on the top of branches. Probably perennial species, found on stones and rocks in sandy, shallow and sheltered photophyle biotopes. Tallo di forma piramidale, con due o tre aassi cilindrici con base sottile ed apice troncato, e ramificazioni con il medesimo aspetto; ramificazioni multiple su un solo piano; altezza tra 10 e 20cm. Colore da rosso scuro (esemplari giovanili) fino a rosso brunastro. Il gametofito e lo sporofito sono simili. Talli fertili durante l'estate; cistocarpi ovali; i sori a paletta si trovano sugli apici dei ramuli; le tetrasporocisti sono sparse sugli apici delle ramificazioni. Specie probabilmente perennante, si trova su pietre e rocce in ambienti sabbiosi, superficiali, riparati e bene illuminati. .
